CHAPTER 6 — "The Mastermind Falls"

Federal agents prepared their largest operation in years.

For months, David secretly worked with investigators, following every financial trail Mason had revealed.

Shell companies.

Hidden bank accounts.

Corrupt officials.

Bribed guards.

Everything led back to one name.

Mr. Graves.

On the morning of the operation, dozens of unmarked vehicles surrounded a luxurious lakeside mansion.

Inside, Mr. Graves calmly poured himself coffee.

He smiled.

"There isn't enough evidence."

Seconds later...

The front door exploded open.

"Federal agents! Don't move!"

Search teams flooded the property.

Computers.

Encrypted phones.

Millions of dollars in cash.

Hidden ledgers.

Every piece of evidence David had been collecting for months was finally uncovered.

Meanwhile, back inside the prison...

Victor watched the news on the common-room television.

His face turned white.

The man he believed untouchable was being led away in handcuffs.

For years, Victor had thought he was the king.

Now he realized he had simply been another pawn.

Several weeks later, Victor requested one final meeting with David.

"I've lost everything," Victor admitted quietly.

David nodded.

"You lost it the day you convinced yourself fear was stronger than respect."

Victor looked down at the table.

"I don't expect forgiveness."

"You don't need mine," David replied.

"You need to decide whether the rest of your life will be controlled by the man you used to be."

David stood and walked toward the door.

Behind him, Victor spoke one last sentence.

"You really came here to finish your father's work... didn't you?"

David paused without turning around.

"No."

A faint smile crossed his face.

"I came here to prove he was right."

As the heavy steel door closed, the prison felt different.

Not because violence had disappeared.

But because everyone inside had witnessed something far more powerful than brute strength.

Real authority doesn't come from fear.

It comes from the courage to remain calm when everyone else loses control.
