I stood on the tarmac at JFK International Airport, the crisp morning breeze catching my hair as I looked up at the sleek silver private jet bearing the Al-Rashid family crest.

My apron was gone. In its place was a sharp, tailored executive suit—the kind worn by someone who didn't serve coffee, but signed the checks.

Footsteps approached softly behind me on the tarmac.

Khalid Al-Rashid walked up, holding a warm cup of coffee in a plain paper cup, handing it to me with a respectful smile.

“Ready for Dubai, Maya?” Khalid asked.

I took the cup, smiled, and took a slow, satisfying sip.

“More than ready, Mr. Al-Rashid,” I replied, looking out toward the horizon where the sun was rising over a brand-new world. “Some people think serving tables means you’re powerless. They just don't realize you have the best view of everyone else’s mistakes.”
