Chapter 3 - The Ghost of the ValleyAs they stabilized him, the truth began to leak out. Marcus, the counselor, stared at Nora. “You were the one who guided the extraction for the 3rd Recon in 2017? That was a black-site operation. Official records say it never happened.”

“Official records are written by people who didn't lose their hearing in the blast,” Nora replied, her hands steady as she inserted an IV.

Caleb’s eyes drifted to Nora, panic surging. “Raven... why are you here? You were... you were supposed to be retired.”

“I am retired,” Nora said softly. “I’m a nurse, Caleb. I’m just a woman folding towels. And today, I’m the woman keeping you breathing.”
