The trial was the talk of the nation. Preston Vail was sentenced to decades in prison for his crimes against veterans.

Black Ridge was reorganized as a truly non-profit, veteran-run facility.

Caleb, through long months of physical therapy and Nora’s unwavering care, regained the ability to walk with a cane. He sat on the lodge’s porch, looking out at the pines.

Nora walked out, holding two cups of coffee.

“Raven Six,” Caleb said, smiling for the first time in years.

“Nora,” she corrected. “Just Nora.”

“No,” Caleb said, looking at the peace he had found. “You’ll always be the voice that brought me home.”
