The retreat plunged into darkness. Footsteps echoed in the hallway. Preston’s head of security, a man who didn't care about veteran welfare, moved toward room fourteen with a weapon.

“Nora,” Dutch said, standing in the doorway with a kitchen knife. “Get the boy out the back. We’ll hold the hallway.”
