Lila ran over, holding up a drawing she had made of the three of them standing together under the sun.
“Uncle Sawyer! Look! I gave you wheels in the picture, but crossing them out because you don't need them anymore!”
Sawyer smiled, bending down to scoop both Lila and June into his arms at once, lifting them high into the air as they shrieked with joyful laughter.
He looked out over the vast, beautiful estate that was once a lonely prison. It was a home now. A real home, filled with warmth, family, and light.
