Chapter 3 - THE DECEITAdrian looked at Elena’s bay. A monitor alarm went off—she was bleeding out.

"Elena needs a vascular repair, Rachel needs a C-section and hemorrhage control," Priya said. "One team. One room."

Adrian made his choice. He turned away from me. "Take Elena. Use the room for Elena."

"Adrian!" I screamed, but the OB nurses were already wheeling me away, not to the OR, but to a holding room. He had prioritized the ghost of his past over the life of his wife and unborn child.
