Chapter 2 - THE RAIN-SOAKED CONFESSIONThe cloud folder held thousands of automatically archived voice memos accumulated over eight years of marriage.

I tapped a file labeled October 14 - 1:22 AM.
The audio immediately filled my headphones with the harsh, pounding sound of heavy rain and howling wind against a car window. My own voice sounded frantic and trembling in the background.
Then came Martin Kells's voice, cold and clinical: "You were driving, Claire."
And finally, Adrian’s voice—clear, sober enough to articulate a calculated crime, and dripping with selfish manipulation: "Claire, listen to me. A DUI destroys the campaign. You have no record... I will spend the rest of my life making it right."
It wasn't just a confession. It was an unedited blueprint of subornation of perjury, witness tampering, and obstruction of justice.
