Chapter 10 - The True HeirElena broke the seal of the envelope and pulled out a single, handwritten note from the old butler.

“Miss Elena, if you are reading this, it means the storm has passed and the light has finally broken through. Your father—the real Lord Arthur—did not leave you unprotected. Before he vanished that tragic night, he left the true key to the family vault not in the estate, but in the heart of the person who loved this family most. Look behind the portrait in the grand library.”

Elena didn't wait a second longer. She turned sharply on her heel, rushing down the grand mahogany staircase with Ethan hot on her heels.

They burst into the grand library, where the massive oil painting of Lord Arthur Vance hung in pride of place above the marble fireplace. Elena stepped up to the canvas, her fingers tracing the heavy wooden frame.

With a gentle press against the carved wooden crest at the base of the frame, the massive painting swung outward like a hidden door, revealing a secret, temperature-controlled vault set deep within the stone wall.

Inside sat a glowing wooden box, untouched by time, resting on a velvet cushion.

Elena reached inside and lifted the lid. Gleaming softly under the warm interior lights was not just gold or diamonds, but a magnificent, flawless tiara of pure platinum and blue diamonds—and directly beneath it, a handwritten journal bearing her birth certificate, signed and sealed by her true grandfather, proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that she was the undisputed, rightful blood heir to the entire dynasty.

Ethan stood beside her, his eyes wide with awe as he looked at the treasures recovered from the dark.

"Well," Ethan smiled warmly, raising his glass in a silent toast. "Looks like the empire finally has its true queen."

Elena smiled back, her heart light, her posture unbreakable. The secret was out, the villains were caged, and her true reign was just beginning.
