Chapter 10 - The True SanctuaryThree months later.

New Hope Church had undergone a complete, agonizing, but necessary spiritual and structural cleansing.
With the financial fraud exposed and the corrupt leadership dismantled, the remaining board of elders invited me to step in as interim director of community restoration and financial transparency. We returned every stolen dollar to the elderly parishioners, restored Sister Martha’s property deeds, and turned the church into a genuine haven for the broken and weary.
On a bright, crisp Sunday morning, I stood behind the mahogany pulpit.
I wasn't wearing a flashy outfit, and I didn't shout empty promises of wealth and prosperity to manipulate the crowd. I wore a simple white blouse, my Bible resting open on the wooden stand.
The sanctuary was full. The air felt clean, light, and alive with authentic grace.
I looked out across the pews, meeting the eyes of the women and men who had survived the storm alongside me.
“Trust God even when you cannot see the answer,” I told them gently, a soft smile touching my lips. “Because sometimes, the greatest answer to your prayers is the strength He gives you to tear down the lies yourself.”
