Chapter 7 - The Desperate DefenseRichard slammed his hands down onto the mahogany table, losing all pretense of corporate composure.

“This is a coup!” Richard shrieked, spittle flying from his lips as he glared at me with pure, unadulterated hatred. “You think you can just walk in here after twenty years of playing housewife and take my company?! I built this empire! I secured every shipping contract! You were just sitting at home drinking wine!”

I leaned back slowly in my leather chair, locking my eyes onto his panicked gaze.

“You secured the contracts, Richard? Let’s talk about those contracts,” I said smoothly. I clicked a remote control on the table, instantly lighting up the massive ninety-inch smart display behind the executive podium.

The screen flickered to life, displaying a detailed, color-coded forensic audit trail.

“In 2018, when Carter Logistics was on the verge of bankruptcy due to your disastrous real estate gamble, who restructured the federal compliance bids?” I asked, raising an eyebrow. “I did.”

“In 2021, when the federal audit flagged irregular offshore transactions in the Cayman accounts, who flew to Washington and cleared the company name before the SEC stepped in?” I continued, my voice rising steadily in power. “I did.”

“And last month, Richard, when you tried to siphon twenty-five million dollars into a private shell company managed by your little consultant here—who caught the anomaly within four minutes of the wire transfer?”

The boardroom was dead silent. Every single director stared at the glowing financial audit on the screen, their expressions shifting from shock to profound disgust as they realized the magnitude of Richard’s incompetence and greed.

“You are not a visionary, Richard,” I whispered coldly. “You were simply the frontman. And your performance is officially canceled.”
