Chapter 3 - The Harrow Foundation“The Harrow Foundation,” Adrian murmured softly, reading the embossed text aloud. He turned his gaze slowly back to Celeste. “An elite philanthropic trust established in Geneva in 1998, specializing in private endowments and biological asset management. It hasn't operated publicly in over two decades. Yet you carry their active portfolio files, Mrs. Vance.”
Celeste’s breath hitched. She instinctively tucked the folder behind her back. “That... that is none of your concern, Doctor. My family’s legal holdings are confidential.”
“Nothing involving Maya is confidential anymore,” Adrian said smoothly. He reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a sleek tablet device, tapping the screen twice before holding it out toward Celeste.
The screen displayed a digitized access log of the hospital’s central database.
“At 11:42 PM last night—exactly three hours before Maya made her desperate phone call to my private line—someone accessed her father’s classified genetic markers and medical history using an encrypted administrative key,” Adrian explained, his eyes narrowing. “The IP address trace didn't originate from a public terminal. It routed straight through the private router of the Harrow Foundation's Manhattan branch. The same branch managed by your late father, Mrs. Vance.”
The color completely drained from Celeste’s face. She looked like a ghost standing in broad daylight.
“You... you’re investigating me?” Celeste whispered, her voice cracking.
“I investigate discrepancies,” Adrian corrected coldly. “And when a billionaire surgeon gets an anonymous late-night call from a desperate student whose father’s medical file was illegally breached just hours prior, I tend to conclude that I was deliberately manipulated into the equation.”

I froze, the air leaving my lungs. I looked from Adrian to Celeste, the horrifying puzzle pieces finally clicking together in my mind.
“Wait,” I whispered, looking up at Adrian. “You didn't just answer my call by coincidence?”
