Chapter 8 - Epilogue — A New DynastyThree months later.

The gardens of the Okafor estate were bathed in the golden light of a warm afternoon.
The forced, fraudulent marriage under Amara’s name had been legally annulled by the high court, replaced by a genuine, binding marriage license bearing my real name: Chisom Okafor.
My grandmother was living in a fully renovated, secure estate with private medical care, far away from Ngozi’s threats.
I stood on the stone balcony overlooking the pristine fountains, holding a cup of fresh green tea.
Footsteps approached softly behind me. Strong arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me back against a warm, solid chest.
“What are you thinking about, Mrs. Okafor?” Obinna murmured softly, kissing the side of my neck.
I smiled, turning around in his embrace and looking up into his dark, loving eyes.
“I was just thinking about that stormy night when you first woke up,” I teased lightly. “You looked terrifying.”
Obinna chuckled, a rich, genuine sound that chased away every lingering shadow of the past.
“I was furious,” he admitted, resting his forehead against mine. “Not because I was sick, but because I realized my entire family was garbage—and the only person who cared whether I lived or died was the brave young woman they thought they could crush.”
He kissed me softly, sealing a bond forged in the dark and tempered by fire.
