CHAPTER 2 – The Secret Buried for Six Years

The woman in black walked down the aisle slowly.
Every step sounded like a warning.
Ethan’s mother suddenly stood up.
“Stop her,” she hissed.
But it was too late.
The woman handed Ethan the envelope and said,
“Your wife never died in that accident.”
The bride covered her mouth.
Ethan froze.
“What did you say?”
The woman’s eyes moved to Ethan’s mother.
“She was hidden. Threatened. Forced to disappear… because your family didn’t want a poor girl carrying the Carter heir.”
The church exploded in whispers.
Ethan ripped open the envelope.
Inside were hospital records, DNA documents, and one final handwritten letter.
His dead wife’s letter.
His hands shook as he read the first line:
“Ethan, if you are reading this, it means our daughter finally found you.”
Tears fell onto the page.
The little girl clung to his jacket.
Then Ethan’s mother screamed,
“She was trying to trap you! We protected you!”
Ethan slowly looked up.
For the first time in his life, he saw the monster behind his mother’s perfect smile.
“You stole my family from me.”
But before anyone could move…
The bride suddenly laughed.
Cold. Bitter. Terrifying.
Everyone turned to her.
She wiped away one fake tear and whispered,
“Your mother promised this would never come out.”
Ethan’s blood went cold.
“You knew?”
The bride smiled.
“I knew everything.”
Then the little girl pulled one more thing from her pocket.
A tiny recorder.
And when she pressed play, the bride’s voice filled the church:
“After the wedding, Ethan transfers the company shares to me. Then the child disappears again.”
The church went silent.
Ethan stepped back from the altar.

The wedding was over.
But the revenge had only begun.
