Chapter 6 - THE BOARDROOM SHOWDOWNThe 80th-floor boardroom of Whitmore Enterprises was packed to capacity. Sunlight poured through the floor-to-ceiling glass windows, illuminating twenty board members sitting around a massive mahogany table.

At the head of the table sat Harrison Vance, wearing an expensive silk tie and a triumphant, smug grin.
"Ladies and gentlemen," Harrison announced, standing up as the double doors swung open. "We are here today to discuss a severe breach of fiduciary and moral conduct by our CEO, Thomas Whitmore. As you can see from these leaked photographs taken yesterday, Mr. Whitmore has been secretly funneling resources to unverified individuals in impoverished districts, raising serious questions about asset misuse and personal liability."
The board members murmured anxiously among themselves. Several papers rustled.
"I move for an immediate vote of no confidence," Harrison declared, raising his hand. "To strip Thomas of his executive voting rights and place me as interim CEO."
"Seconded," piped up a loyalist board member.
Before the vote could be cast, the heavy oak doors opened again with a sharp click.
Thomas Whitmore walked in. He wasn't wearing an expression of defeat. He walked with absolute authority, his dark suit immaculate, his eyes sharp as ice.
And right beside him walked Marianne Cole, dressed in a sharp, elegant navy blazer Thomas had had hastily tailored for her overnight, holding Sophie’s little hand.
Harrison scoffed loudly. "What is this circus, Thomas? You brought your charity case into a corporate board meeting?"
"Silence, Harrison," Thomas commanded, his voice echoing with a terrifying chill that instantly shut down the room.
Thomas walked to the head of the table, standing right beside Harrison.
"You called Mrs. Cole a 'liability,'" Thomas said, his voice ringing across the room. "You claimed my interaction with her was a financial conspiracy. Let me show you what a real conspiracy looks like."
Thomas tapped a remote control in his hand. The massive projector screen behind the board table lit up, displaying a series of financial records, email chains, and wire transfers.
"For the past three years," Thomas continued, pointing at the screen, "Harrison Vance has been quietly siphoning off subsidiary development funds into offshore accounts registered under shell companies—including one named 'Vance Holdings Group.' He didn't leak those photos because he cared about corporate assets. He leaked them because my security team was getting too close to uncovering his multi-million-dollar embezzlement scheme."
The room erupted into absolute chaos. Board members jumped to their feet, staring at the financial records flashing on the screen.
Harrison’s face drained of all color. He stammered, pointing a shaking finger at the screen. "That’s—that’s a forgery! He’s fabricating evidence!"

"The federal auditors are already downstairs in the lobby, Harrison," Thomas replied coldly, signaling the security guards stationed by the door. "Along with the state police. Your accounts have been frozen, and your shares have been legally seized under our corporate fraud statutes."
Two security officers stepped forward, grabbing Harrison by the shoulders and dragging him out of the boardroom as he cursed and thrashed furiously.
