Chapter 2 - THE DEAD TWINâS REVENGE
âShe Wasnât Dead. She Was Hiding Something Far Worse.âLenaâs hands shook violently as she stared at the locket.
"Where... where did you get this?" Lena choked out, pulling Lily closer as the subway roared through the dark tunnels under Manhattan.
"Mommy gave it to me before the dark man locked me in the room with no windows," Lily whispered softly, her thumb tracing the metallic surface. "She said if I ever found someone who looked like her, I had to give them the key."
Lena pulled down her collar, exposing a small silver chain around her own neck. Hanging from it was the matching keyâa childhood gift from her sister before they drifted apart years ago.
They rushed to an abandoned basement apartment in Queensâa secret hideout Lenaâs late ex-fiancĂŠ had left behind. Inside the damp, low-lit room, Lena plugged the flash drive into an old, dusty laptop.
The screen flickered to life, illuminating the darkness with a sharp blue glow. A video file appeared on the desktop, titled: FINAL_WARNING.mp4.
Lena double-clicked it.
Her sister Clara appeared on the screen. She was pale, bruised, sitting in a dark room with tear stains on her cheeks.
"Lena..." Claraâs voice trembled through the tiny laptop speakers. "If you are watching this, I am already gone. The crash wasn't an accident. Marcus Vanceâmy husband, the man who controls the city's private security networkâfound out I discovered his real business. He isn't just a billionaire developer, Lena. He runs a global shadow network. And Lily isn't just my daughter..."
Clara paused, looking directly into the camera with terrified eyes.
"...Lily is the sole legal heir to the $400 million Vance estate. Marcus needs her dead before her 7th birthday to claim every cent. Save her, Lena. Don't trust anyone. Not evenâ"
The video abruptly cut to static.

Outside the basement window, red and blue lights suddenly began flashing against the brick wall. A megaphoned voice boomed across the alley:
"LENA MILLER, COME OUT WITH YOUR HANDS UP! YOU ARE UNDER ARREST FOR THE KIDNAPPING OF LILY VANCE!"
