Chapter 8 - THE NEW DYNASTY AND THE UNBROKEN OATH

Six months later, the streets of Chicago’s South Side looked different.

The old abandoned warehouses where the Moretti syndicate once operated were gone, replaced by brightly lit community centers and logistics hubs funded entirely by a mysterious philanthropic foundation bearing the name Dawson-Salvatore.

On a crisp autumn afternoon, a sleek black Escalade pulled up outside a newly renovated park.

Dante Salvatore stepped out first, adjusting his suit jacket, followed closely by Nonna holding the hand of a laughing five-year-old girl who was clutching a fresh, bright yellow wildflower.

A few paces behind them walked Brielle Dawson.

She wasn't hiding behind anyone anymore. Her posture was straight, her eyes sharp and confident, and the scar on her palm was nothing more than a faint silver line—a reminder of the day she picked up a broken chair leg and rewrote her entire destiny.

As the little girl ran ahead toward the swings, Dante stopped and turned to Brielle, offering his arm.

"Ready to face the city?" he asked quietly.

Brielle looped her arm through his, a warm, genuine smile gracing her lips as she looked out over the skyline she once thought would swallow her whole.

"Let's go," she said.

They weren't survivors hiding in the shadows anymore. They were the architects of a new empire—and no one would ever break their line again.
