Chapter 5 - The Ultimate Betrayal

“You think you’ve won, Bianca?” Victor Romano sneered, his mask of fatherly dignity completely slipping away. He looked like a cornered animal. “You have no proof that holds up in a court of law. This is circumstantial gossip!”

“Is it?” Bianca smiled, a cold, brilliant expression. “Let’s ask your partner.”

From the back of the room, FBI agents entered, led by a sharp-looking woman in a trench coat. But they weren't looking at Bianca or Dominic. They marched straight toward Adrian Caruso and Victor Romano.

“Victor Romano, Adrian Caruso, you are under arrest for conspiracy, human trafficking, and illegal medical experimentation,” the lead agent declared.

Adrian panicked. “It wasn't me! It was Victor! He forced us into it! He said his daughter was getting too close to the files, so he ordered Ferris to falsify her records and pump her with temporary hormonal blockers during her routine check-up to mimic ovarian failure!”

The ballroom went dead silent.

Bianca felt a cold dread wash over her. Hormonal blockers. They hadn't just lied; they had actively poisoned her to make the lie real.

“You... you poisoned me?” Bianca whispered, staring at her father.

Victor didn't look remorseful. “You were going to destroy thirty years of my hard work for a moral crusade! You were a logistics manager, Bianca! You should have kept your head down!”

Dominic stepped in front of Bianca, his hand resting on the holster beneath his jacket. His eyes were wild with a murderous rage. “You poisoned your own daughter. You sold her to me like cattle.” He took a step toward Victor. “The FBI might arrest you today, Victor. But they won’t be able to protect you in federal prison. I own the guards. I own the blocks. Every day of your life will be a living hell.”

As the FBI cuffed Victor, Lucille, and Adrian, Dr. Ferris fell to his knees, begging for mercy.

But the drama wasn't over. As Adrian was being led away, he looked back at Bianca with a sick, twisted smile.

“You think Dominic is your savior, Bianca?” Adrian spat. “Ask him about the night your uncle Raymond 'disappeared' five years ago. Ask him who ordered the hit that started the war that crippled your family's shipping lines in the first place. You married the man who orchestrated your family’s ruin!”
