CHAPTER 9 — "ONE YEAR LATER... THE PROMISE WAS KEPT"

One year passed.
The video of a ten-year-old boy standing fearlessly in front of the Iron Titan had become one of the most-watched moments in sports history.
But Ryan Carter had quietly disappeared from the spotlight.
People often wondered...
"How is Ryan doing now?"
One Saturday morning, the answer finally came.
Thousands gathered outside the newly opened Ryan Carter Courage Center, a rehabilitation and cancer support facility for children funded entirely by donations raised after that unforgettable night.
Parents, doctors, volunteers, and former patients filled the courtyard.
Television crews lined the entrance.
No one knew who would cut the ribbon.
Then a black SUV pulled up.
The first person to step out was the Iron Titan.
Only this time...
he wasn't wearing a championship belt.
He was wearing a simple blue T-shirt with four words across the front:
"Fight With Hope."
The crowd applauded as he smiled and waved.
Moments later, another vehicle arrived.
The door slowly opened.
Ryan stepped out.
A little taller.
A little stronger.
His hair had begun to grow back.
The scars on his arms remained, but his smile was brighter than ever.
The audience erupted into thunderous applause.
Some people wiped away tears before he had even spoken.
The Iron Titan walked over and gave Ryan a gentle hug.
"You look stronger than last year."
Ryan laughed.
"I've been training."
The giant raised an eyebrow.
"Oh?"
Ryan nodded proudly.
"I can finally do ten push-ups."
The crowd laughed.
Then Ryan looked at the giant with a mischievous grin.
"So..."
"Do you want a rematch?"
The audience burst into laughter.
The Iron Titan pretended to look terrified.
"Oh no..."
"I already know who's going to win."
Even the reporters laughed.
But the happiest person in the crowd wasn't Ryan...
or the giant.
It was Ryan's grandfather.
Standing beside his daughter, he quietly watched his grandson laughing again.
A year earlier, he had almost lost everything.
Now...
he had been given a second chance.
As the ribbon was cut, hundreds of children rushed inside the new center.
On the wall near the entrance hung a bronze plaque.
It read:
"This place exists because one brave little boy reminded the world that courage is contagious."
The applause echoed through the building.
But before the ceremony ended...
the master of ceremonies smiled and said,
"We have one final surprise."
May you like
Everyone turned toward the stage.
No one was prepared for what happened next.
