Chapter 10 - FOUNDATION OF STONESix months later, the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Calloway-Vance Tower drew every major news outlet, politician, and civic leader in the state of Florida.

The cameras flashed blindingly as the oversized ceremonial scissors cut through the thick red silk ribbon stretched across the grand glass entrance.
Standing beside me on the podium wasn't a corrupt politician or a backstabbing investor. It was Rosa, dressed in a sharp, elegant charcoal blazer, her head held high, looking out over the sparkling expanse of the Miami coastline.
As the applause thundered through the courtyard, a reporter from the Miami Herald rushed forward, thrusting a microphone toward us.
"Mr. Calloway! Ms. Vance! They're calling this the greatest corporate comeback in Florida history! How did you manage to rise from the absolute ashes of bankruptcy and betrayal?"
I looked at the reporter, then turned my head to look at Rosa, who gave me a quiet, knowing nod.
"People think a building collapses when the walls fall down," I said into the microphone, my voice echoing clearly across the plaza. "They think bankruptcy is the end of the story. But a real empire isn't built on glass, concrete, or paper contracts."

I reached out, taking Rosa’s hand and raising it high in front of the flashing cameras.
"It's built on loyalty, truth, and the people who stay in the room when the lights go out."
