I looked at the birth certificate first. Name: Sophie Miller. Father: Thomas Harrison.
My breath hitched. Sophie wasn't a random child on the street. She was my niece. My brother’s secret daughter.
I plugged the flash drive into my laptop. A video file appeared. It was Thomas, recorded days before his death. He looked terrified. "Mike, if you're watching this, I'm already gone. David and the board—they've been using our offshore accounts to launder money for the cartel. I found out. They know I know. Protect Elena. Protect my little girl."
David. My right-hand man. The man who had patted my back today in the boardroom, congratulating me on our profits.
