Chapter 3 - Into the ShadowsThe car swerved violently, crashing into a row of parked cars. Airbags deployed in a cloud of white smoke. Adrenaline masking the pain, I kicked my door open and sprinted into the nearest alleyway.

David had ears everywhere. He controlled my company's security. Going to the police was suicide; he had half the precinct on our corporate payroll.

I had to get to Elena and Sophie. I bought a burner phone with cash, hailed a random taxi, and rushed back to the hospital. But when I arrived at Room 412, the bed was empty. The sheets were stripped.

"Where is the patient?" I yelled at a passing nurse.

"Mr. Harrison? Your security team transferred her to a private facility twenty minutes ago. A man named David signed the paperwork. He had the little girl with him."

A primal rage I didn't know I possessed erupted inside me. David had my niece. He had her mother. And he thought he had won.

He forgot one thing. I wasn't just a businessman. I was a billionaire with absolutely nothing left to lose.
