CHAPTER 1 – The Child No One Was Supposed to See

The steel doors slammed shut with a deafening echo.

Inside the abandoned military warehouse, nearly fifty hardened prisoners knelt silently with their hands behind their backs. Around them stood heavily armed tactical officers dressed in black, rifles raised, fingers resting dangerously close to the triggers.

No one dared to breathe.

No one knew why they had been dragged there before sunrise.

Rumors spread through the terrified crowd.

"Mass execution."

"Secret government experiment."

"No one leaves alive."

Then...

The enormous door slowly creaked open.

Tiny footsteps echoed across the concrete floor.

A little blond boy—no older than eight—walked calmly into the center of the room.

He wasn't crying.

He wasn't afraid.

He simply looked around as if he had been there before.

Every prisoner stared in disbelief.

One tattooed inmate whispered,

"Whose kid is that?"

Another shook his head.

"No child could survive getting in here..."

The commander suddenly raised his fist.

Every armed officer instantly turned their rifles—not toward the prisoners...

...but toward the little boy.

Gasps filled the warehouse.

Several prisoners screamed for the soldiers to stop.

The child didn't move.

Instead...

He quietly smiled.

Then he said five words that froze every soldier in place.

"I'm finally home... Father."

The commander dropped his weapon.

Complete silence swallowed the room.

Even the prisoners realized something impossible had just happened.
