Chapter 20 - The Forever BalanceMidnight arrived quietly, the city below them humming with the steady, relentless pulse of money, power, and ambition.

Standing on the private balcony of the penthouse, wrapped in a cashmere shawl, Vivien looked out over the glittering expanse of the bay. The shipping lanes were lit by the steady green and red beacons of cargo vessels moving smoothly toward the Costa docks.

The heavy glass door slid open behind her.

Edmund stepped out onto the balcony, holding two crystal glasses filled with amber scotch. He handed one to her, standing close behind her, his arms wrapping around her waist to shield her from the cool night breeze.

"Thinking about your father?" Edmund asked softly, his breath warm against her ear.

Vivien took a sip of the scotch, feeling the smooth burn trace down her throat. She leaned back against his solid chest, closing her eyes for a brief moment.

"I was thinking about the debt he left behind," she murmured.

Edmund tightened his grip around her waist, resting his chin gently against her hair.

"And?"

"Paid in full," Vivien smiled, turning her head to meet his pale, unblinking eyes with a gaze just as sharp and unyielding as his own. "With interest."

They stood together on the balcony high above the city, watching the lights burn bright against the dark Atlantic horizon—not as a mafia boss and his bought bride, but as the true king and queen of an empire that nothing could ever touch again.
