CHAPTER 1: THE SILENT INTRUDER

The storm outside the isolated cabin was relentless, a roaring beast battering the wooden walls. But inside, the atmosphere was suffocatingly tense. Arthur sat bolted to the wooden chair, his knuckles white as he gripped the armrests. Sweat poured down his face, mixing with the sheer terror in his eyes.

“STOP—DON’T TOUCH IT—!” Arthur’s scream ripped through the cabin, sharp enough to cut through the howling wind.

Clara stood over him, her breath uneven, her hands trembling violently as she held a pair of long, silver tweezers. The lantern light flickered, casting grotesque, dancing shadows across the room.

“Arthur, please, there’s something inside… I can see it,” Clara whispered, her voice cracking with a fear she could barely contain.

She leaned closer. The metallic tweezers slid slowly into his ear canal. Arthur let out another scream—louder, raw, and utterly desperate. He tried to jerk away, but Clara clamped her hand onto his jaw.

“Hold still… just—hold still…” she pleaded.

The firelight flickered violently as Clara pushed the tweezers a millimeter deeper. Suddenly, she felt it. Resistance. It wasn't earwax. It wasn't a piece of dried cotton. It was something solid, yet sickeningly soft. And then, it moved. It actively pushed back against her tool.

Arthur’s body convulsed, nearly knocking the chair over. “GET IT OUT—GET IT OUT—!”

Clara clamped the tweezers down. She pulled. Slow. Careful. There was a sickening, wet sound as whatever was inside finally gave way. With a sudden burst of adrenaline, Clara yanked it out.

The creature writhing in her tweezers was small, dark, and pulsing with unnatural life. Arthur gasped sharply, his body going completely limp.

Then came the silence.

It was a complete, heavy, unnatural silence. Arthur blinked, slowly lifting his head. The agonizing pain vanished from his face, replaced by a eerie, hollow calm.

“…I… I can hear…?” he whispered.

But he wasn't just hearing Clara's breath. He was hearing the void. Because outside, the violent storm had instantly vanished. No wind. No rain. Nothing.

Clara couldn't answer. She was staring at her hand. The thing in the tweezers was extending, stretching longer than it should be, thin and pulsing.

“This…” Clara whispered, horror clawing up her throat, “…was inside you…”

Suddenly, the creature jerked hard, almost slipping from her grip. It twisted its horrific body toward them, and from its tiny, malformed mass, a sound escaped. It wasn't an insect's buzz. It was a faint, broken human whisper:

May you like

“…don’t…”

Before either could scream, the lantern flickered out. Pitch black darkness swallowed the room.
