CHAPTER 3: THE AWAKENING

The cabin walls began to bulge. The wood groaned under the pressure of countless writhing bodies trying to force their way inside.
Clara knew she had only seconds. She lunged for the heavy iron fire poker resting by the hearth. As she grabbed it, Arthur moved with terrifying speed, pinning her against the wall. His grip was like ice, his strength unhuman.
"Join the silence, Clara," Arthur whispered, leaning his head close to hers. From his open mouth, the same faint, broken whisper echoed: "...don't... resist..."
With a scream of survival, Clara brought her knee up into his chest. The blow distracted him just enough for her to break free. She swung the iron poker with all her might, striking the side of his head. Arthur stumbled back, but he didn't bleed red. He didn't even cry out. He just stared at her with that hollow smile.
The ceiling finally gave way.
Dozens of the dark, pulsing, worm-like creatures rained down into the cabin. They writhed on the floor, all of them turning toward Clara.
Desperate, Clara grabbed the lit oil lantern and smashed it onto the floorboards. The oil caught fire instantly, creating a wall of flames between her, Arthur, and the crawling nightmare. The creatures shrieked—a chorus of agonizing, human-like whispers filling the air.
Clara unlocked the door and threw herself out into the night.
EPILOGUE (KẾT BÀI CÓ HẬU)
The cold night air hit her face as she ran blindly through the woods. Behind her, the cabin was fully engulfed in flames, lighting up the dark forest like a tragic beacon. She didn't stop running until she reached the main highway, collapsing into the headlights of a passing police cruiser.
Three weeks later.
Clara sat in a brightly lit diner in the city. The noise of clinking silverware, chatter, and traffic comforted her. She had survived. The police found nothing but ash at the cabin site, treating it as a tragic accident. Arthur was officially declared missing.
Clara sipped her coffee, finally feeling a sense of safety. She had escaped the nightmare.
She reached into her purse to grab some coins. Her fingers brushed against something metallic. She pulled it out.
It was the silver tweezers. She had completely forgotten she pocketed them in the chaos.
Clara stared at the metal tip. And then, her heart froze.
Deep inside her left ear, a tiny, familiar pressure bloomed. A soft, rhythmic pulsing. And then, a faint, microscopic whisper echoed directly inside her brain:
“...Thank you for bringing us to the city...”

Clara’s eyes widened in sheer terror as she realized the true horror had only just begun.
