Chapter 10 - A PROMISE KEPTTwo weeks later, the morning sun broke warmly over the quiet suburban neighborhood, casting golden rays across a freshly mowed lawn and a peaceful front porch.

The national news channels were playing a continuous, looping broadcast that had dominated headlines across the country:
“Federal authorities, in coordination with elite military intelligence units, have dismantled a massive international white-collar crime syndicate known as the Vanguard Consortium. Dozens of high-profile arrests, including prominent corporate attorneys and political figures, have been made following the recovery of encrypted financial servers...”
Inside the living room of the house, Hannah sat comfortably on the sofa, sipping hot cocoa from a ceramic mug, her wrists completely healed with only faint, fading traces of her ordeal remaining.
The front door opened softly, and Isaac stepped inside, wearing a simple civilian jacket instead of his tactical gear. He carried a small, wrapped birthday box in his hands.
Hannah looked up, her eyes lighting up with a bright, familiar warmth.
"Pop!" she called out, a wide smile spreading across her face.
Isaac walked over, kneeling beside her chair and placing the small gift box gently on her lap.
"Happy birthday, sweetheart," Isaac said softly, his voice full of a warmth that only a father could feel. "And for the record... you can call me Dad whenever you want."
Hannah laughed softly, throwing her arms around his neck and burying her face against his shoulder. "Thanks, Dad. I knew you'd make it."
Isaac held her close, closing his eyes as the weight of the past weeks finally lifted completely from his shoulders.
