Chapter 6 - The Trap SpreadsArmed with the historical ledger, I met Detective Chloe Park and the Federal Prosecutor at the district attorneyâs office.

"This changes everything," the lead prosecutor admitted, flipping through the pages of original contracts signed by Arthur Vance and my grandfather. "This proves Arthur Vance engaged in extortion, grand theft, and corporate fraud decades ago. The statute of limitations hasn't expired because the fraudulent shell corporations are still active today."
"We can arrest Arthur right now," Chloe said, standing up. "And Victoriaâs offshore accounts just got flagged by the IRS."
"Wait," I said, a dark realization hitting me. "If Arthur and Victoria realize the trap is closing, theyâll run. We need to catch them red-handed attempting to flee."
That evening, I leaked a fake report through the construction companyâs internal network: All trust funds unlocking for emergency liquidation at midnight.
Just as I anticipated, Victoria and Arthur took the bait.

At 11:30 PM, I watched the security live-feed of Vance Constructionâs main vault. The heavy doors swung open. Arthur and Victoria entered with large duffel bags, attempting to wipe the servers and steal physical bearer bonds stored in the executive safe.
"Got you," I whispered into my headset to Chloe.
