Chapter 5 - The Bloodline Revelation

🧬 THE DNA TEST MANHATTAN DREADED: LILY ISN’T A SERVER’S DAUGHTER—SHE’S THE SOLE HEIR TO THE EMPIRE!As the police officers led a screaming, hysterical Claudia Whitcomb out of the ballroom in handcuffs, the atmosphere inside the Grand Belmore shifted from shocking drama to deep, unsettling tension. Vanessa looked as though she might faint, while Julian stared at the floor, knowing his family’s reputation was utterly destroyed.
But Marcus wasn't finished. He turned to the head of his personal security detail, a retired intelligence officer named Vance, who had just entered the ballroom carrying a sealed medical envelope.
"Did you run it?" Marcus asked quietly.
"Express courier to our private lab, sir," Vance replied, handing over the envelope. "They used the hair sample you provided from the stuffed toy’s lining—which contained trace DNA from the original owner—and compared it against the swab we took from the glass the child drank from ten minutes ago. It’s a match. A perfect match."
Marcus took a deep breath, his chest heaving under his tailored suit. He walked over to Rosa, who was still trembling, holding Lily tightly in her arms.
"Rosa," Marcus said, his voice loud enough for the remaining guests to hear. "Four years ago, my younger brother Julian was the black sheep of the Cole family. He hated the corporate greed, the fake smiles, and the ruthlessness of our world. He changed his name to Arthur Mendez to escape our father's private investigators. He wanted to live a real life. A life with you."
Rosa stared at him, her jaw dropping. "Arthur... Arthur was a Cole? No. He told me he grew up in foster care..."
"Because if he told you the truth, my father would have used every resource to destroy you and separate you from him," Marcus explained, tears welling in his own eyes—a sight none of his business rivals had ever seen. "When his private plane crashed, we were told he was alone. But he wasn't on that plane. The plane crash was a cover-up staged by the Whitcomb family’s legal team to ensure that if Julian ever tried to claim his share of the Cole family trust, he would be legally dead."
Marcus turned his gaze fiercely toward Julian Sterling and Vanessa Whitcomb. "The Whitcombs knew. They discovered Arthur was alive and living in Queens under a false name. They knew he had married a wonderful woman and was expecting a child. They arranged the 'accident' that killed your husband, Rosa. They wanted to ensure that the multi-billion-dollar Cole-Sterling trust fund would flow directly to Julian Sterling—my sister’s son, who was completely controlled by the Whitcombs."
A collective murmur of horror rippled through the ballroom. The glamorous wedding had turned into the unveiling of a massive, multi-million-dollar criminal conspiracy.

Marcus tore open the medical envelope and held up the document. "This is a certified DNA profile. Lily Mendez is the biological daughter of Julian Cole. She is my biological niece. And under the terms of my father's original, unaltered will..."
Marcus looked directly at Vanessa and Julian, his voice ringing with absolute authority. "...Lily is not a trespasser in this room. She is the sole legal owner of the Cole-Sterling estate, including the very ground this hotel stands on. Julian, Vanessa—you are officially cut off. Security, evict the bride and groom from my property."
