CHAPTER 6 — Her Mother's Final Letter

The entire park stood frozen.

No one moved.

No one spoke.

Ethan stared at the envelope trembling in his hands.

He recognized the handwriting immediately.

Emily.

His wife.

The woman he had buried six years ago.

His fingers shook as he slowly broke the seal.

Inside was a single folded letter.

And a small silver pendant.

The same pendant Emily had always worn around her neck...

Until the day she died.

Ethan unfolded the paper.

His heart pounded.

The letter began...

"My dearest Ethan..."

"If you're reading this, it means they finally found us."

Tears blurred his vision.

Emily continued.

"First... I need you to forgive me."

"I lied to you every single day of our marriage."

Ethan's breathing stopped.

Lily squeezed his hand.

"What did Mommy say?"

He couldn't answer.

Emily's words became even more heartbreaking.

"You were never part of this war."

"I chose you because you were the kindest man I'd ever met."

"I wanted Lily to grow up with a real father... not the monsters who shared my blood."

Benjamin quietly lowered his head.

He already knew.

Emily had sacrificed everything.

She had abandoned a billionaire dynasty...

Changed her identity...

Married an ordinary mechanic...

Just to give her daughter a normal childhood.

Ethan kept reading.

Then came the sentence that shattered everyone.

"Lily is not the Carter family's greatest secret..."

"I am."

Silence.

Even Adrian looked stunned.

"What?" he whispered.

Emily continued.

"The Carter fortune was never built by my father."

"It was stolen from another family."

"The proof is hidden inside Vault 117..."

"...along with the original ownership documents."

The old veteran slowly nodded.

"It's true."

"The Carters stole everything."

"They murdered everyone who knew."

Adrian's face twisted with rage.

"Enough!"

He lunged toward Ethan, trying to snatch the letter.

But before he could reach it—

A deafening explosion rocked the park.

BOOM!

One of the black SUVs erupted into flames.

People screamed.

Smoke filled the air.

The tactical officers immediately formed a protective circle around Ethan and Lily.

The commander spoke urgently into his radio.

"Package exposed!"

"We have another hostile team!"

Ethan looked toward the burning vehicles.

Out of the smoke...

A line of black motorcycles emerged.

Their engines thundered across the park.

Every rider wore the same black helmet.

The same silver wolf emblem.

Benjamin's face turned pale.

"No..."

"They weren't supposed to know."

The commander slowly drew his pistol.

His expression became deadly serious.

"They're not here for the fortune."

"They're here for Lily."

Ethan held his daughter tightly.

"Who are they?"

The commander looked him straight in the eyes.

Then whispered the words that froze everyone's blood.

"They're the people who killed Emily..."

May you like

"...and tonight, they've come back to finish the job."
