CHAPTER 1: THE MOST DISGUSTING PASSENGER I'D EVER MET

I had been counting down the days for almost a year.

After months of overtime, canceled vacations, and endless stress, I was finally flying home to visit my parents.

The flight was nearly five hours long.

All I wanted was to lean back, close my eyes, and enjoy a peaceful trip.

Unfortunately, fate had other plans.

About twenty minutes after takeoff, I noticed a strange smell.

At first I thought someone had spilled food.

Maybe a forgotten sandwich.

Maybe a dirty diaper.

But the smell kept getting worse.

Much worse.

Then I looked down.

And nearly gagged.

A dirty bare foot was resting directly on my armrest.

Not shoes.

Not socks.

A naked foot.

The toenails were yellow.

The skin looked filthy.

And the smell was absolutely unbearable.

I turned around.

Behind me sat a guy in his early twenties.

Headphones on.

Baseball cap backward.

The expression on his face screamed that he believed the entire world belonged to him.

"Excuse me," I said politely.

"Could you please move your foot?"

He glanced at me for half a second.

"No."

I blinked.

Maybe I heard him wrong.

"Sorry?"

He rolled his eyes.

"I said no."

Several passengers nearby started watching.

I tried again.

"Your foot is on my armrest."

He shrugged.

"So?"

The smell continued pouring over the seat.

A woman across the aisle covered her nose.

An older man looked disgusted.

I took a deep breath.

"Please move it."

The young man laughed.

"If you don't like it, move."

My patience was disappearing.

I gently pushed his foot off the armrest.

Ten seconds later...

He placed it back.

This time even closer to me.

Almost touching my shoulder.

The entire row fell silent.

Everyone could feel the tension growing.

A flight attendant eventually walked by.

I explained the situation.

She politely asked him to keep his feet in his own space.

He nodded.

The moment she left...

The foot came right back.

Now he was smiling.

He thought this was funny.

He thought he was winning.

What he didn't realize was that I had finally stopped asking nicely.

And a new idea had just entered my mind.

A very interesting idea.

May you like

One that would make him regret every second of this flight.

By the time we reached cruising altitude, my plan was ready.
