Chapter 5 - The Siege of Calder ManorDeprived of their money and exposed to the entire world, the Calders went into panic mode. The political shields protecting them vanished overnight as politicians scrambled to cut ties with the ruined family.

Federal arrest warrants were re-issued with zero possibility of bail.
Supported by a tactical strike team of elite Special Forces veterans who owed me their lives, I led the raid on the heavily fortified Calder Estate.
Searchlights cut through the rainy night sky as armored vehicles tore through the wrought-iron gates of the estate.
"Drop your weapons!" Major Hart’s voice boomed through a megaphone as tactical officers flooded the courtyard. Private security guards threw their guns down, realizing no amount of money was worth fighting the U.S. Military.
We kicked down the massive mahogany double doors of the mansion.
Inside, the grand entrance hall was in total chaos. Papers were scattered everywhere, expensive artwork lay slashed on the floor, and luggage was half-packed near the spiral staircase.
Grant Calder was caught trying to flee through the kitchen with a briefcase full of bearer bonds. He threw his hands up, blubbering for mercy as officers slammed him to the floor.
In the master study, we found Vivienne Calder sitting behind her husband’s old desk, a glass of scotch in her trembling hand. The arrogant sneer she wore at the hospital was gone, replaced by the hollow gaze of a ruined woman.
"You ruined us," she whispered, her eyes manic. "We were gods in this city! We built this world!"
"You built a house of cards on the back of my daughter's blood," I replied coldly, stepping aside as female federal agents handcuffed her. "And now it's time to pay the bill."

"Where is Preston?" Detective Bennett demanded.
Vivienne let out a bitter, crazy laugh. "He's gone. He took the master drive. He went to meet him. You're all dead anyway. When Julian gets that drive, he's going to erase this entire city from the grid!"
