Chapter 6 - Betrayal in the BoardroomThe crowd gasped. The media cameras began flashing furiously.
"Five years ago," Alejandro continued, his eyes cold as steel, "a cabal of traitorous board members orchestrated a plot to assassinate my wife, steal her family’s legacy, and install a puppet heiress into my life."
At that moment, the large digital screens behind the stage flickered on. Instead of corporate financial slides, live video footage from the maximum-security interrogation facility played across the screen.
On the screen sat Richard Vance and Victoria Sterling, dressed in orange prison jumpsuits.
"Tell them, Richard," the prosecutor’s voice echoed through the speakers in the ballroom. "Tell them who founded the Mercer-Vance Holding Trust."
Richard bowed his head in defeat on the screen. "The Mercer family... Elena Mercer's father... was the original owner of seventy percent of Vance Global’s foundational assets. When he died, he willed everything to Elena. We tried to get rid of her so Victoria could marry Alejandro and claim the corporate trust."
The entire ballroom erupted into chaos!
"What?! She isn't a pauper?!"
"She's the majority heiress of the entire Mercer Trust!"
Elena stepped up to the main podium, gracefully pulling the microphone toward her. Her calm, confident voice commanded absolute silence across the grand hall.
"Five years ago, I allowed them to think they won," Elena said into the microphone, her eyes burning with unstoppable authority. "I survived their traps, I protected my son, and I waited for the moment when every single snake in this organization revealed themselves."
She turned her gaze toward the front row of the ballroom, where four senior directors of Vance Global stood trembling in terror.

"Board Directors Miller, Vance Jr., Halloway, and Vance-Smith," Elena called out, her voice striking like lightning. "Your hidden shares have been seized. Your Swiss accounts are locked. As seventy-percent owner of Vance Global, you are terminated—effective immediately."
Security teams rushed into the ballroom, grabbing the terrified directors and dragging them out in front of the entire elite society!
