CHAPTER 6 — The Million-Dollar Offer

Michael and Henry rushed upstairs.

The dining room was in chaos.

A convoy of black luxury SUVs had stopped outside.

Several men in expensive suits entered, led by billionaire developer Richard Beaumont.

Without even sitting down, Richard placed a thick contract on the table.

"I'll offer one hundred million dollars."

Everyone gasped.

"I want this property."

Michael stared.

"It's not for sale."

Richard smiled confidently.

"Everything is."

Henry quietly studied the businessman.

Then he noticed something unusual.

Richard kept glancing toward the basement door.

Not the restaurant.

The basement.

Henry narrowed his eyes.

"What exactly are you buying?"

Richard answered too quickly.

"The location."

Henry smiled.

"No."

"You're after something hidden."

Richard's confident expression disappeared for the first time.

Michael noticed it too.

Henry slowly pulled the old brass key from his pocket.

Richard's face turned white.

"Where did you get that?"

Henry didn't answer.

Instead, he calmly asked,

"Did your grandfather ever tell you about the tunnel?"

Silence.

Complete silence.

Richard's breathing became uneven.

Only three people had ever known the truth.

Henry.

Michael's father.

And Richard's grandfather—the man who once tried to buy the diner decades ago.

Beneath the old kitchen...

hidden behind another sealed wall...

was rumored to be a forgotten underground vault dating back nearly a century.

Most believed it was only a legend.

But Richard clearly knew otherwise.

He took one step closer.

"I'll double my offer."

"Two hundred million."

Henry smiled.

"I wouldn't sell it..."

"...even for two billion."

The billionaire's jaw tightened.

Then he made a phone call.

Within minutes, city inspectors, lawyers, and health officials began arriving outside the restaurant with stacks of paperwork.

Richard looked Michael straight in the eye.

"If I can't buy this place..."

"I'll make sure you lose it."

Henry quietly slipped the brass key back into his pocket.

Then he whispered something that made Michael's blood run cold.

"The vault isn't the real secret."

May you like

"The real secret..."

"...is what's inside."
