The hospital room fell silent.
Emily stared at the tiny silver bracelet in her trembling hands.
Engraved inside were two words that made her blood run cold.
Ryan Carter.
Her mother, Victoria Harrington, frowned.
"Where did that come from?"
"The nurse said it was hidden inside the blanket you saved for me."
Victoria's face slowly lost its color.
"That blanket..."
She grabbed the bracelet and gasped.
"I remember this."
Emily looked up.
"You've seen it before?"
Victoria nodded.
"The detective found this bracelet in the hospital nursery twenty-six years ago... the night you disappeared."
Emily's heartbeat thundered in her ears.

Before Victoria could answer, an elderly man entered the room.

The same investigator who had spent two decades searching for the missing Harrington baby.

Emily felt sick.

Then Victoria's phone rang.
She answered.

Emily immediately sat up.

Victoria slowly lowered the phone.

Emily let out a long breath.
But Victoria wasn't finished.
"He confessed..."
Emily closed her eyes.
"It's over."
Victoria looked at her with tears streaming down her face.
"No."
"He confessed that he was only following orders."
Emily's heart nearly stopped.
"Orders from who?"
Before Victoria could answer, every television in the hospital suddenly switched to breaking news.

Ryan Carter Found Dead in Police Custody.
Authorities initially believed it was suicide.
But surveillance footage showed something far more terrifying.
Just minutes before his death...
A man dressed as a hospital doctor entered Ryan's holding cell.

Then walked out smiling.
The visitor was never identified.
