Chapter 2 - THE BLACK LEDGER"My... my account," Martha gasped, grabbing the table for support. "Why is it empty? Where is my money?"

"The Black Ledger doesn't just record assets, Martha. It records sins," I said, pulling out a chair and sitting down. I didn't look like a quiet, soft-spoken husband anymore. I looked like a man who decided which countries went to war. "You abused the daughter of a man who was my closest friend. You tried to steal property that was under my legal protection. But most importantly... you touched what is mine."
"Who are you?" Natalie whispered, her face pale as a sheet.
"I am the man you should have feared from the moment I stepped into this house."
