Chapter 6 - The Military TribunalThree weeks later, the setting shifted to a high-security military courtroom at Fort Meade.

Major Sarah Lin stood before a panel of five senior military officers. Her uniform was stripped of all unit patches and awards, her hair tied back in a tight, severe bun. She looked broken, exhausted, and hollowed out.

Sitting at the prosecutor’s table was Colonel Anna Whitmore, representing the Armed Forces Intelligence Command.

"Major Sarah Lin," the Tribunal President, a stern Rear Admiral, declared. "You stand accused of Article 133, Conduct Unbecoming an Officer, Article 134, Fraternization and Financial Misconduct, and Article 92, Failure to Obey a Lawful Order regarding security clearance protocols."

Sarah’s military defense lawyer stepped forward. "Sir, Major Lin pleads guilty to all charges, but requests leniency based on the fact that she was manipulated by civilian Mark Crawford, who lied about his marital status and financial affairs."

Anna stood up, stepping around the prosecution table. She held a black leather folder in her hands.

"Permission to address the panel, Admiral?" Anna asked.

"Granted, Colonel."

Anna walked toward the center of the courtroom, her boots striking the floor in a steady, deliberate rhythm. "Major Lin claims she was manipulated. However, intelligence audits of Major Lin’s personal communications reveal that five months prior to my labor, Major Lin accessed classified personnel files using her administrative clearance to investigate my financial disclosures."

Sarah’s head snapped up, her eyes wide with shock.

"She discovered the existence of my family trust," Anna continued, opening the folder to reveal printed email logs and system access codes. "She then intentionally pursued a romantic relationship with my husband, encouraging him to file for divorce and transfer marital assets into an LLC that she co-founded under an alias. This was not a passive mistake of passion, Admiral. This was a targeted, deliberate operation against a senior officer of the United States Army."

The panel of officers murmured in anger, their faces turning cold as they reviewed the printouts on their tablets.

"Major Lin," the Admiral said, his voice dropping into a register of terrifying authority. "Is this true?"

Sarah dropped her head, weeping silently. She couldn't deny it. The digital footprint was unmistakable.

"In light of this evidence," the Admiral announced, standing up, "the Tribunal finds Major Sarah Lin GUILTY on all counts. You are hereby dishonorably discharged from the United States Armed Forces, stripped of all rank, titles, and pensions, and sentenced to forty-eight months of confinement at the Military Correctional Complex at Fort Leavenworth."

Sarah collapsed into her chair, sobbing uncontrollably as two military police officers handcuffed her and led her away through a side door.

Anna stood at attention, saluting the panel as they exited. When the room cleared, General Vance walked up beside her.

"Clean execution, Colonel," Vance said with a subtle nod. "What’s your next move?"

"My next move, General," Anna replied, looking out the window at the parade field below, "is to ensure Mark Crawford gets the maximum sentence in federal court next week."
