Chapter 3 - THE INVISIBLE INFILTRATOR

“A Fake Name, A Stolen Uniform, and a Loaded Gun in the Luxury Penthouse.”The Manhattan Rossi Tower towered over Fifth Avenue like a monument to corrupted wealth.

Sarah stood in the service elevator, wearing a crisp, blue housekeeping uniform she had stolen from a commercial linen truck three blocks away. Her hair was tucked tightly beneath a wig, her face covered in heavy, aging makeup. She looked ten years older, her eyes hidden behind thick, fake reading glasses.

In her pocket, she gripped a small USB drive Dominic had given her. In her waistband, she carried the Walther PPK.

The elevator dinged. Floor 40. Sub-basement.

She stepped out into the labyrinth of concrete hallways. This was her element. She knew how guards looked right through service staff. To the wealthy and powerful, people like Sarah were just animated furniture.

She walked past two armed sentries guarding the electrical room. She didn’t look at them. She kept her eyes on her clipboard, humming a low tune, pushing a cart full of industrial cleaning chemicals.

“Hey! Hold up,” one of the guards called out, stepping into her path.

Sarah’s heart violently skipped a beat. She stopped, keeping her head low. “Yes, sir? The supervisor said the drains on Floor 42 need immediate clearing before the evening banquet.”

The guard stared at her badge—a forged ID Dominic had scrambled together. He frowned. “You’re new. What happened to Martha?”

“Martha’s back threw out yesterday, sir. I’m just covering the shift,” Sarah said, her voice perfectly mimicking the tired, submissive tone of a career maid.

The guard grunted, waving his hand dismissively. “Go on. But keep out of the West corridor. Executive meeting in progress.”

“Thank you, sir.”

Sarah pushed her cart past them, slipping into the main server closet at the end of the hall. Her hands flew over the keyboard of the central maintenance terminal. She plugged in the USB drive.

System Access Granted.

The progress bar crawled forward. 10%... 30%... 50%...

Suddenly, the overhead speaker crackled to life. Lorenzo Rossi’s voice echoed through the building’s secure intercom system, broadcasting a live address to his capos upstairs.

“My friends,” Lorenzo’s voice boomed, dripping with false solemnity. “Tonight, we celebrate a new era. Carmine and Dominic are gone. The old ways die with them. Tonight at the gala, we sign the treaty with the Bratva, uniting our shipping routes. If anyone still harbors loyalty to my late nephew… remember what happens to traitors.”

Sarah watched the progress bar hit 90%.

Suddenly, the door to the server room swung open.

It wasn’t a guard. It was Lorenzo Rossi himself, flanked by his top enforcer, a scarred man named Viktor. Lorenzo was looking for a quiet place to take a private phone call.

He stopped dead in his tracks when he saw Sarah standing over the secure terminal.

The USB drive beeped. Download Complete.

Lorenzo’s eyes narrowed as he looked from the screen to Sarah’s face. Despite the makeup and the wig, he recognized those terrified, yet fiercely stubborn eyes from the security footage at the Catskills mansion.

“Well, well,” Lorenzo whispered, a sickening smile spreading across his face. “The little mouse didn’t run away. She came right into the trap.”
