Chapter 5 - THE COLLAPSE OF AN EMPIRE"Guards," Alejandro’s voice cut through the terrified silence like a razor-sharp guillotine.

The six federal tactical officers marched forward instantly, their heavy boots echoing with menacing precision. They formed a tight semicircle around Regina, who stood paralyzed, her chest heaving as the gravity of her catastrophic mistake finally crashed down upon her.
"Alejandro, please!" Regina cried out, her voice cracking with hysteria as she reached out a manicured, trembling hand toward her husband. "I didn't know! She was wearing... she looked like a vagrant! She wandered in from the streets, she ruined my dress, she—"
"Silence," Alejandro commanded softly, but the sheer venom in his tone made Regina snap her mouth shut instantly. He stepped closer to his wife, his eyes burning with a cold, unforgiving fire. "My mother suffers from severe dementia in her final years. She became confused, she missed the family estate, and she wandered out into the city. And you—in your infinite, shallow arrogance—decided to humiliate her, scream at her like a rabid animal, and order her thrown out into the gutter."
Regina shook her head frantically, tears spilling down her cheeks and ruining her expensive makeup. "It was a mistake! I swear to God, Alejandro, I didn't know she had dementia! I thought she was just some random—"
"A random person?" Alejandro interrupted, his voice rising in dangerous volume. "So it’s acceptable to treat human beings like garbage as long as they aren't carrying a billionaire's last name? Is that the lesson you teach our friends every single night?"
He turned slowly to face the rest of the ballroom. Three hundred powerful elites stood paralyzed, terrified to make a sound, desperately wishing the floor would open up and swallow them.
"As of tonight," Alejandro announced, his voice echoing coldly off the marble walls, "every single business contract, partnership, and political alliance I hold with anyone in this room is officially terminated. My legal team will begin auditing our joint ventures by midnight. If your company is attached to mine, consider yourself bankrupt by morning."
A collective gasp of absolute horror erupted through the crowd. Several prominent real estate developers turned pale and clutched their chests, while a famous television host dropped his champagne flute, shattering it against the floor. In one single sentence, Alejandro Alcocer had just executed a financial massacre of the city’s upper crust.
Regina collapsed onto her knees, sobbing uncontrollably as the crimson stain on her white silk dress seemed to mock her absolute ruin.
Amidst the chaos and crumbling empires, Mariana stood frozen near the edge of the room, still holding her heavy silver tray of caviar canapés. Her mind was spinning. Her heart was pounding. She had wanted to protect an innocent old woman, and now, by sheer accident, she had witnessed the total annihilation of Mexico City's most feared socialite.
Suddenly, a soft, frail voice spoke up beside her.
"My dear child..."
Mariana blinked, looking down. The elderly matriarch—Doña Elena Alcocer—was standing right next to her, looking up with warm, tear-filled eyes. Doña Elena gently reached out and rested her trembling, wrinkled hand over Mariana’s burning, blistered fingers.

"You defended me," Doña Elena whispered softly, a gentle, lucid smile touching her lips. "When everyone else looked away, when everyone else treated me like a monster... you showed me kindness."
Before Mariana could form a single word, Senator Alejandro Alcocer turned toward them. He walked over, stopped a few feet away, and slowly, deliberately, lowered his head in a deep, respectful bow.
