Chapter 7 - THE INVITATION TO MONACOWithin forty-eight hours, a private Gulfstream G650 bearing Blackwell logistics insignia touched down at the Nice Côte d'Azur Airport in France. Aboard the aircraft was not an army of mercenaries, nor a team of assassins—just Damon Blackwell and Kate Bennett, dressed to kill in custom European haute couture.

Word traveled with terrifying speed through the European underworld: Damon Blackwell had crossed the Mediterranean, walking straight into the lion's den of Viktor Vance’s territory.
The meeting was set for midnight aboard Viktor’s mega-yacht, The Iron Leviathan, anchored three miles offshore in international waters.
The salt breeze whipped across the upper deck as Kate and Damon stepped out of the private tender. Waiting for them at the top of the gangway was Viktor Vance himself—a towering, scarred Russian with cold grey eyes, flanked by four massive bodyguards holding submachine guns.
"Damon!" Viktor bellowed, spreading his arms wide with theatrical warmth. "My favorite American capitalist! I hear you've been doing some aggressive housekeeping lately. Disposing of senators, rearranging cabinets..."
"Viktor," Damon said smoothly, stepping past the bodyguards without a flicker of fear. "Your cybersecurity team needs work. Stealing files from my network is a clumsy way to say hello."
Viktor’s smile curdled into a thin, dangerous line. He turned his cold gaze toward Kate, who stood slightly behind Damon, exuding an aura of absolute, unshakeable poise. "And who is this? I heard your old maid quit after a messy incident in the kitchen. Did you promote her to a bodyguard?"
"Meet Kate Bennett," Damon said, his voice dropping into a register that made Viktor’s bodyguards instinctively tense their grips on their weapons. "My Chief of Staff. She’s the one who traced your hack back to this yacht in four minutes flat."
Viktor’s eyes narrowed. He let out a low, mocking laugh. "A maid turned executive? You've gone soft, Damon. You think because you run a few clean tech firms in New York, you can waltz into my waters and dictate terms? You eliminated fifteen men for a nobody. Imagine what I can do to your entire empire if I release those files to Interpol."
Kate stepped forward. She didn't flinch. She didn't lower her eyes. She looked Viktor dead in the eye—the exact same look her mother had taught her never to use, except now, she wasn't hiding. She was holding the trigger.
"You won't release anything, Viktor," Kate said, her voice cutting cleanly through the wind.
Viktor sneered. "And why is that, little girl?"
Kate reached into her handbag and pulled out a sleek, matte-black tablet. She pressed a single button on the screen and tossed it onto the glass table between them.
The screen lit up, displaying a real-time satellite feed of Viktor’s primary offshore bank accounts in the Cayman Islands, his hidden armories in St. Petersburg, and—most importantly—the encrypted operational codes for his entire smuggling network across Eastern Europe.
"While you were busy trying to hack our archives," Kate said smoothly, stepping closer to the table, "my team spent the last forty-eight hours completely rewriting your infrastructure. Your offshore accounts have been frozen, your cryptocurrency wallets have been redirected to an international humanitarian charity, and your personal guards’ encrypted comms are currently broadcasting their exact GPS coordinates to every Interpol field office in Europe."
Viktor’s face drained of all color. He lunged forward, grabbing the tablet, his hands shaking violently as he scrolled through the data streams. "This... this is impossible! No one can hack my network!"
"Your network was built on outdated encryption protocols from 2018," Kate said, smiling coldly. "You were easy."
Before Viktor could bark an order, the deep, thrumming roar of heavy turbine engines filled the night air above them. Three black tactical helicopters roared out of the darkness, their powerful searchlights instantly bathing The Iron Leviathan in blinding, military-grade white light.

Damon adjusted his cuffs, looking down at the frozen Russian mob boss with absolute pity.
"You wanted my territory, Viktor," Damon said softly. "Consider it a hostile takeover."
