Chapter 7 - THE SIEGE OF DELUCA MANORThe grand foyer of the DeLuca Estate looked like a war zone.

Crystal chandeliers shattered into thousands of pieces on the polished marble floor. Heavy velvet curtains burned near the shattered stained-glass entrance doors.

Automatic gunfire echoed through the high ceilings.

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

Lorenzo stood behind a thick marble pillar at the top of the grand staircase, firing with deadly, precision accuracy into the wave of mercenaries rushing through the front doors.

Beside him, Marco fired a submachine gun, dropping two mercenaries coming up the east corridor.

"Boss! They have RPGs!" Marco yelled over the deafening noise. "They're trying to collapse the West Wing!"

Through the smoke and flames at the front entrance, a tall, sharp-featured man in a dark trench coat stepped forward, holding a gold-plated pistol.

It was Don Matteo Moretti.

"Lorenzo!" Matteo’s voice echoed maliciously through the burning hall. "Give me the boy! Give me Lucas, and I will let you die quickly!"

Lorenzo stepped out from behind the pillar, his eyes burning with absolute, demonic fury.

"You poisoned my son, Matteo!" Lorenzo’s voice boomed like thunder across the hall. "You hired a snake to kill a child! You aren't a Don... you're a coward!"

"I am taking what belongs to my bloodline!" Matteo screamed, raising his pistol and firing upward!

BANG!

Lorenzo ducked as the bullet chipped the stone railing. He leaped over the marble staircase banister, dropping fifteen feet down into the center of the foyer like an apex predator landing in the middle of a pack of wolves!

He swept his rifle across the room, taking out three mercenaries before they could even raise their weapons!

Lorenzo lunged forward, grabbing Matteo by his throat, slamming the rival mob boss violently against the burning wooden wall of the grand hall!

Matteo groaned in agony as his head struck the wall, dropping his gold pistol onto the floor.

"This is for my wife," Lorenzo growled into Matteo’s face, his hand crushing the man’s windpipe. "And this is for my son!"
