Chapter 9 - The Final CollapseThree black-suited operatives swung down from the ceiling cables like military tactical units, crashing directly through the perimeter glass. Before Arthur could process what was happening, Viktor lunged across the mahogany table like a striking panther, grabbing Arthur’s wrist and wrenching it upward with a sickening crunch.

The pistol discharged harmlessly into the acoustic tile ceiling, showering white dust over the terrified executives hiding beneath the furniture. Viktor twisted Arthur’s arm behind his back and slammed his face flat against the polished wood table.

"Drop the weapon," Viktor growled.

Arthur screamed in agony as the pistol clattered across the floor, sliding away into the corner of the room.

My father didn't even stand up. He simply adjusted his cuffs, picked up his coffee cup, and took a slow, calm sip while looking down at the trembling Apex CEO pinned beneath Viktor’s massive forearm.

"Arthur," my father said softly, his voice cutting through the whimpering cries of the board members. "For twenty years, I stayed out of the game. I retired to raise my daughter in peace. But you and your greedy little nephew decided to test the boundaries of my patience."

"Please... please don't kill me," Arthur choked out, blood dripping from his nose onto the expensive mahogany. "Take everything! Take the company! Take all the assets! Just let me live!"

"Kill you?" My father let out a cold, humorless laugh. "Killing you is far too kind. You see, Arthur, I didn't just bring financial records today."

My father nodded toward Viktor, who pulled a heavy USB drive from his tactical vest and plugged it directly into the boardroom’s master presentation console.

Instantly, the massive 85-inch smart screen on the wall flickered to life. It wasn't financial spreadsheets anymore. It was a live-streamed feed broadcasting directly to the Department of Justice, Interpol, and every major news network in the country—detailing every single illegal shipment, every laundered dollar, and every cartel connection tied to Apex Global Logistics.

"By the time the sun sets today," my father whispered into Arthur’s ear, "Apex Global Logistics will be seized by federal marshals. Every single executive in this room will be arrested and thrown into a maximum-security federal penitentiary for the rest of your natural lives."

Arthur closed his eyes, sagging completely against the table as he realized his entire empire had evaporated into dust in less than five minutes.

"And you?" Arthur whispered, staring up at me with tear-filled, defeated eyes. "What happens to me?"

May you like

I looked down at the man who had backed the monster that tried to bury me alive. I felt no pity. Only cold, absolute closure.

"You get to watch your empire burn," I said quietly. "Just like I watched my home burn."
