Chapter 4 - CURTAIN CALL FOR A DYNASTYThe quiet honor student hadn't just endured months of bullying out of weakness. She had been waiting for the right moment, playing a game of psychological chess while everyone around her thought she was a helpless pawn.

"You're bluffing," Arthur hissed, though sweat was beginning to bead along his hairline. "You're a kid. You don't know anything about finance!"

"I know that account number 884-B in the Cayman Islands has your signature on it," Emma said, reading off a mental list with chilling accuracy. "I know that Assistant Principal Vance accepted a two-hundred-thousand-dollar bribe to alter safety inspection records on the new gymnasium. And I know that Daniel’s entire life was built on stolen money."

Principal Miller sat down heavily in her chair, staring at Arthur in absolute disbelief. "Arthur... is this true?"

Before Arthur could answer, the office phone rang. Then a second line began flashing. Then the secretary’s desk phone started chiming incessantly.

Arthur’s phone buzzed violently in his palm. The caller ID displayed his corporate legal council. He answered with a shaking hand. "Talk to me."

"Arthur! Where are you?!" his attorney panicked over the speaker loud enough for everyone to hear. "The federal marshals just served a raid warrant on the main office! They've frozen all liquid assets! The news teams are outside your house!"

Arthur dropped his phone. It clattered against the linoleum, the attorney’s frantic voice still leaking from the small speaker.

Emma looked down at the phone, then looked up at the man who had terrified her family for half a decade.

"Daniel thought he was breaking my spirit," Emma said softly, turning her back on him. "He was actually breaking open your vault."

She walked out of the office, leaving Arthur standing in the middle of the room as sirens began to echo in the distance, speeding toward the school campus.
