Chapter 5 - The Collapse of the Empire
"The throne?" Arthur Sterling spat out, standing up from his chair and leaning toward the camera. "Listen to me, young woman! You are a nobody—a broken girl from a disgraced family. You cannot simply steal a multi-billion-dollar enterprise because of some petty marital dispute!"
One of the attorneys standing behind Elena stepped forward, adjusting his tie with clinical precision.
"Mr. Sterling, I presume?" the lawyer said smoothly. "I am Julian Vance, senior partner at Vance & Sterling Legal Counsel. Allow me to correct your terminology. Miss Vance is not stealing anything. She is reclaiming what was illegally leveraged during the clandestine buyout of Vance Engineering five years ago."
Grant’s face turned the color of chalk. He took a staggering step backward.
"You... you knew about that?" Grant whispered, looking at Elena.
"I didn't know," Elena said, her voice dropping to a dangerous whisper. "Not until your signature on those divorce papers triggered the forensic audit clause. The moment you abandoned me in the ICU, your corporate firewall automatically exposed every shell company, every hidden ledger, and every dirty secret you used to squeeze my father out of his own patents."
Elena looked directly at the silent, panicking board members.
"Gentlemen," Elena continued, her voice echoing through the massive room. "Your CEO didn't just build Holloway Global through brilliant business acumen. He built it by systematically embezzling intellectual property from the Vance estate while my father lay dying in a hospital bed. A mirror image of what he tried to do to me."
"It's a lie!" Grant screamed, lunging toward the camera as if he could strangle her through the screen. "Don't listen to her! She's fabricating evidence!"
"The federal marshals are currently executing search warrants at your primary residences and secondary servers, Mr. Holloway," Julian Vance said calmly, checking his gold watch. "In approximately four minutes, the asset freeze will transition into a permanent receivership. Holloway Global is officially under the control of the Vance Trust."

The boardroom erupted into chaos. Board members began grabbing their briefcases, shouting at one another, realizing that the ship was not just sinking—it was blowing up from the inside.
Grant stood alone at the center of the room, his hands trembling violently. The multi-billion-dollar empire he had spent a decade ruthlessly constructing had vanished into thin air, dismantled in less than an hour by the very woman he had thrown away like trash.
