Chapter 5 - The Secret LedgerSeated in the grand study of the Bel Air mansion—now her private office—Camila reviewed the digital archives of her father’s estate.

Attorney Wayne stood quietly by the mahogany desk, holding a heavy, leather-bound ledger with brass corners.
“You handled that with absolute precision, Madam Chairwoman,” Wayne said respectfully. “However, there is one detail regarding Mr. Vance’s financial downfall that requires your attention. It goes much deeper than corporate embezzlement.”
Camila raised an eyebrow, spinning her gold fountain pen between her fingers. “Explain.”
Wayne opened the ledger, pointing to a series of offshore transaction codes. “During our audit of Crestview Construction, we discovered that Edwin didn't just drain company accounts for his personal lifestyle or his mistress. He was systematically funneling money into a shell corporation controlled by a third party—someone deeply connected to your family's past.”
Camila’s eyes narrowed. “Who?”
Before Wayne could answer, a loud crash echoed from the foyer downstairs, followed by the frantic shouting of security guards.
“Let me in! I am a shareholder! I demand to speak to Camila!” a shrill, hysterical voice screamed through the heavy oak doors of the study.
Recognizing the voice instantly, Camila stood up, her expression turning into absolute frost.
