Chapter 7 - The Interrogation and the TrapWithin fifteen minutes, the flashing red and blue lights of police cruisers flooded the driveway of the Bel Air estate. Federal marshals and homicide detectives swarmed the grand foyer.

Victoria was dragged out in handcuffs, screaming and thrashing as she realized that her grand revenge plot had completely backfired into a one-way ticket to federal prison.

Edwin, who had been lingering outside the gates hoping to beg for mercy, was scooped up by the police at the same time as an accomplice to the conspiracy and murder plot.

Seated back in her study, Camila watched them get hauled away through the floor-to-ceiling bay windows. Her heart pounded heavily against her ribs, not from fear, but from the raw, burning adrenaline of absolute victory.

Attorney Wayne stepped forward, handing her a final, sealed envelope bearing her father’s personal wax seal.

“Madam Chairwoman, this was locked in the primary corporate safe, designated to be opened only after the complete neutralization of the threat,” Wayne said, his voice filled with deep reverence.

Camila broke the seal and pulled out a handwritten letter from her father.

“My dearest Camila, If you are reading this, it means I am gone, and the wolves have shown their true colors. I always knew what Edwin and Victoria were planning. I let them hang themselves with their own greed so you could finally see your own strength. You were never weak, my child. You were simply a lioness sleeping among hyenas. Now, wake up and rule.”

Tears finally fell from Camila’s eyes—not tears of sorrow, but tears of profound release. Her father had protected her even from beyond the grave.
