Chapter 5 - THE VIRAL TRAP"The Engagement Party of the Century"Two days later, the news of Valeria’s "accidental injury" had been successfully buried by Rogelio’s PR team. To the public and Mexico City’s elite business society, Valeria Mendoza had suffered a "mental breakdown," disfigured herself in an episode of self-harm, and voluntarily checked into a private psychiatric facility in Switzerland.

Capitalizing on the lie, Rogelio and Ofelia announced a grand emergency gala at the prestigious Hacienda de los Morales in Polanco—one of the most luxurious venues in Mexico City.
The official press release was sickening:
"IN LIGHT OF TRAGIC FAMILY HEALTH EVENTS, EMILIANO ALCÁZAR AND DANIELA MENDOZA ANNOUNCE THEIR IMMEDIATE ENGAGEMENT TO UNITE TWO GREAT DYNASTIES."
Inside the dazzling ballroom, crystal chandeliers cast brilliant light over hundreds of high-profile guests: politicians, billionaire investors, media moguls, and socialites.
Daniela strutted across the marble floor in a custom $80,000 silk dress, showing off a massive 8-carat diamond ring that Rogelio had purchased using Valeria’s stolen trust account. She smiled for the flashing cameras, sipping expensive champagne while her mother, Ofelia, showed off her newly purchased emerald necklace.
"You look breathtaking, darling," Ofelia whispered, adjusting Daniela’s dress. "Once the press sees you two together tonight, Emiliano won't have a choice. His corporate reputation will force him to go along with the narrative."
"I don't care about his reputation, Mom," Daniela giggled maliciously. "I just wanted to make sure Valeria knew that everything she built, everything she loved, and every man who ever looked at her belongs to ME now. Even with a shattered face, she can watch us on TV from her padded cell."
Rogelio stepped up to the main stage, tapping a crystal glass with a golden spoon. The room fell silent as the spotlight centered on him.
"Distinguished guests, partners, and friends," Rogelio announced into the microphone, his voice dripping with false charisma. "Today is a day of resilience. Though my eldest daughter Valeria has sadly succumbed to a long-standing personal mental illness and stepped down from all family affairs, love finds a way to heal all wounds. Tonight, we celebrate the union of my brilliant daughter Daniela and the visionary titan of construction, Mr. Emiliano Alcázar!"
The crowd broke into polite applause.
"And now," Rogelio beamed, "let us welcome the groom!"
The massive double mahogany doors of the ballroom burst open.
A heavy, chilling gust of air swept into the room.
Emiliano Alcázar walked in, wearing a sharp black tuxedo. But he wasn't alone.
Walking beside him, holding his arm firmly, was a woman in a sweeping, fiery red gown. Her head was held high, her posture regal and radiant.
The left side of her face was covered by a breathtaking, custom-made Venetian mask fashioned from solid gold and encrusted with black diamonds—hiding her surgical bandages while making her look like a terrifyingly majestic queen.
The crowd gasped. The cameras went wild, flashes blinding the room.
"Valeria?!" Daniela shrieked, dropping her glass of champagne. It shattered on the marble floor.

Rogelio’s face went completely bloodless. "What... what is the meaning of this?! Security! Remove this imposter!"
"Don't move a single muscle, Rogelio," Emiliano’s voice boomed through the ballroom speakers, echoing off the high ceilings. "Because tonight isn't an engagement party. It’s a public execution."
