Chapter 5 - Dawn of a New EraThe sun broke over the Atlantic Ocean at six o'clock the following morning, casting a brilliant, golden hue across the waterfront terraces of the Palm Beach estate.

The moving trucks had already come and gone, hauling away the designer luggage, fake luxury goods, and remaining personal effects of the Holloway family. Outside the gates, the media vans buzzed like angry hornets, broadcasting live updates on the impending federal indictment of Holloway Meridian’s executive board.
I stood on the second-floor balcony, wearing a crisp white linen shirt and tailored trousers, holding a fresh cup of coffee.
My father walked out onto the terrace, handing me a leather-bound folio stamped with the gold crest of Bellamy Holdings.
"The board emergency session is scheduled for nine o'clock," my father said, leaning against the balustrade beside me. "Word has already spread across Wall Street. Holloway Meridian’s stock plummeted ninety-two percent in pre-market trading. Within forty-eight hours, the company will be dissolved and absorbed into our primary portfolio."
I opened the folio, scanning the merger documents. Every asset, every patent, every subsidiary building would now bear its true name.
"And Grant?" I asked quietly.
"Federal holding facility," my father replied without hesitation. "Bail was denied due to flight risk and the scale of international wire fraud. Delaney is cooperating with the prosecutor to reduce her sentence, and Mavis is currently trying to sue the county jail for serving subpar tea."
I couldn't help a small, amused smile touching the corners of my lips.
For seven years, I had hidden in the shadows of a rented kitchen, believing that true love required self-effacement, patience, and silent sacrifice. I had thought that by making myself small, I could keep a man's ego intact and build a normal life.
I had learned the hardest lesson a woman of wealth and power could ever face: you cannot build a healthy future with someone who sees your kindness as a weakness, and your silence as an invitation to exploit you.
My father gently placed his hand over mine.

"You built an empire, Seraphina. Never shrink yourself to fit inside someone else's rented illusions again."
"I never will, Grandpa," I said, looking out toward the endless horizon where the ocean met the sky. "I never will."
