Chapter 8 - THE NEW HORIZONSix months after the scandal shook the business world of Jalisco, the Grand Ballroom of the Hotel Camino Real was packed to capacity.

Industry leaders, veteran truck drivers in crisp uniforms, international shipping partners, and regional government officials gathered for the annual Transportes Carranza Gala. But tonight was different. Tonight marked the official handover of the entire corporate conglomerate to its new president and CEO.
At the podium stood Don Eusebio Carranza. Though his hair was completely white, he stood tall, radiating the formidable energy that had built an empire from a single battered truck decades ago.
"For over forty years, I believed that building a successful business meant protecting your assets, guarding your wealth, and trusting your blood," Don Eusebio’s voice boomed through the sound system, clear and commanding.
The ballroom fell into absolute silence.
"I was wrong," the old man continued, his gaze sweeping across the crowded room. "True wealth is not measured in pesos, in real estate portfolios, or in offshore accounts. It is measured in loyalty. In integrity. In the people who stand by you when the doors are locked, the lights are turned off, and the world thinks you are gone."
He turned toward the center of the stage.
"Ladies and gentlemen, your new President and CEO of Transportes Carranza: Javier Lozano."
A thunderous wave of applause erupted through the ballroom. The veteran drivers in the front row stood up and cheered, their calloused hands clapping with genuine pride.
Javier stepped up to the podium. He looked out over the sea of faces—past the sparkling chandeliers, past the flashing cameras, past the ghosts of a greedy family that had tried to destroy everything in the dark.
He adjusted the microphone.
"Thank you, Don Eusebio," Javier began, his voice steady, carrying the quiet strength of a man who had earned every single step of his journey. "To everyone who believed in this company when it was tested by greed and betrayal: our journey has only just begun."

He smiled, looking down at the heavy brass key resting safely in his breast pocket—the key that had unlocked not just a safe, but a brand new future.
"Let's get to work."
