Chapter 10 - Epilogue: The Last SecretSix months later.

The global headquarters of Ashford Industries in central London was a monolith of glass and modern steel. From the executive penthouse office on the fiftieth floor, the view of the Thames was breathtaking.
I sat behind the massive mahogany desk, reviewing the final restructuring reports for our charitable medical foundation—a global initiative providing free healthcare and debt relief to families in need, funded entirely by the seized assets of Helena and Julian’s illicit empire.
The office door clicked open.
Ethan walked in, carrying two cups of steaming coffee and wearing a tailored suit without a tie, looking relaxed, healthy, and completely free of the ghosts of his past.
He set a cup on my desk, leaned over, and pressed a tender kiss to the top of my head.
"How are the foundation audits looking, Mrs. Ashford?" he asked, smiling warmly.
"Better than expected," I replied, leaning back in my leather chair and spinning my wedding ring around my finger. "We've cleared the debts of over ten thousand families this month alone."
Ethan smiled, his eyes softening with deep affection. "Good. Because I have a surprise for you tonight. No boards, no lawyers, no security protocols. Just a flight to the Maldives."
I raised an eyebrow, amused. "A vacation? Are you sure the smart-home system won't lock us in?"
Ethan laughed, pulling me up from my chair and wrapping his arms around my waist. "I had the system upgraded last week. The AI now has only two primary directives: protect the estate, and make sure my wife is the happiest woman in London."
As he pulled me into his arms for a slow dance right there in the middle of the executive office, I looked out the floor-to-ceiling window at the vibrant city below.

The nightmare on the snow-covered terrace felt like a lifetime ago. I had entered the Ashford estate as a desperate captive of debt and murder.
I was leaving it—every single day—as its undisputed queen.
